Are You Missing the God Moments Right in Front of You?
The Question That Changed Everything Recently, I led a mission team to Colombia. Every evening, we gathered together, and I would ask the team: “Where did you see Jesus today?”
At first, there was silence. I think they were looking for the "big things"—miraculous signs or massive events. But as the week went on and they began to look closer, they saw Him everywhere: in a smile, a kind word, or a simple answer to prayer.
The Emmaus Blindness It’s so easy to miss what God is doing. In Luke 24, two disciples were walking the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus, heartbroken and discouraged. Jesus Himself drew near and walked with them, but "their eyes were kept from recognizing him."
They were so preoccupied with their grief and the pressures of life that they didn't realize the very person they were mourning was walking right beside them.
You Are Not Alone We live in a culture where loneliness is "off the charts." In Canada alone, 13% of people say they feel lonely always or often. But for those who walk with Christ, the promise is clear:
"And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20)
Recognizing His Presence When the disciples finally invited Jesus in and broke bread with Him, their eyes were opened. They realized their hearts had been burning the whole time.
If you are feeling discouraged, disillusioned, or lonely today—don't give up. Jesus is with you to bring comfort, encouragement, and strength. He is the Way Maker, the Miracle Worker, and the Promise Keeper. Even when you don't feel it, He is working on your behalf.
Ask yourself today: Where did I see Jesus in the small things?
